Why should I hire an ISA Certified Arborist for tree removal in Bel Air?

An ISA Certified Arborist has passed the International Society of Arboriculture's exam on tree biology, risk, care standards and safe work practices, and keeps up with continuing education. That training helps you avoid removing healthy trees, catch hazardous trees before they fail, and protect the trees you keep during clearing and grading. Goliath Land Management is led by an ISA Certified Arborist.

How much does land clearing cost in Harford County?

It depends on acreage, density, tree size, terrain, access, and whether stumps and debris are mulched in place or removed. Light brush on open ground costs far less than mature woods on a slope. We give free on-site estimates with itemized pricing.

What is forestry mulching?

A forestry mulcher grinds brush, vines and small trees into mulch where they stand. No burn piles, no hauling, and the mulch layer limits erosion. It's ideal for selective clearing, pasture reclamation, trails, fence lines and invasives.

Do I need a permit to clear land in Harford County?

Sometimes. Harford County requires development that disturbs more than 5,000 square feet to address sediment control, and larger projects may need an approved erosion and sediment control plan. Properties near tidal water may fall within the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area. We'll tell you what applies during the estimate.

Can you remove a tree near my house or a power line?

Trees near homes, garages, barns and fences: yes, in controlled sections. Trees touching power lines: call your electric utility (BGE in most of our area) first and stay clear. Once the line is safe, we can remove the rest.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Bel Air and serve all of Harford County plus northern and eastern Baltimore County, including Fallston, Forest Hill, Jarrettsville, Abingdon, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Edgewood, Joppa, Kingsville, Perry Hall, Phoenix, Monkton, Sparks and Hunt Valley.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Estimates are free and done on site so we can see the trees, terrain and access before we price the job. Call or text 443-619-9161.

Is Goliath Land Management licensed and insured?

Our President is an ISA Certified Arborist. We carry liability insurance and provide a certificate of insurance on request. Our Maryland Licensed Tree Expert number is [LTE # — add].

Do you work with builders and commercial clients?

Yes. We work with builders, developers, HOAs, property managers and farms, with clear commercial quotes, phased scheduling and certificates of insurance on request.

What happens to the trees and brush you remove?

Your choice: mulched in place, chipped and hauled away, or logs left for firewood. Forestry mulching leaves a protective layer that breaks down into the soil.

When is the best time of year to clear land?

Late fall through early spring is often ideal: leaves are down, the ground is firmer and you can see the lay of the land. We work year-round when conditions allow.

Can you clear land without killing the trees I want to keep?

Yes. We mark keepers with you, set protection zones around their roots, and plan equipment paths and grade changes to avoid damaging them.
