Hazardous tree removal in Bel Air & Harford County
Dead, leaning, cracked and storm-damaged trees assessed by an ISA Certified Arborist and taken down in controlled sections, away from your house, barn, fence and family.
A dead oak over the roof. A split maple hanging over the driveway. A row of ash trees killed by emerald ash borer. These aren't jobs for the lowest bidder with a chainsaw. One bad cut can put a tree through your house.
Goliath removes hazardous trees with a plan built around where the tree can and can't go. Trees near structures come down in controlled sections. Open-ground trees are felled where they'll do no harm. Then we clean up, and grind the stump if you want it gone.

The arborist advantage
Why certified judgment matters here
Not every scary-looking tree needs to go, and not every healthy-looking tree is safe. An ISA Certified Arborist looks at the whole picture: species, decay, structure, root condition and what's underneath. Sometimes pruning saves the tree. Sometimes it needs to come down before the next storm does it for you.
Arborist consultations →What affects the price
Every property is different, so we price after we see it. These are the factors that move the number:
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Tree size | Bigger trees mean more cuts, more time and more debris. |
| What's underneath | Trees over homes, lines or fences need sectional work. |
| Condition | Dead and decayed wood is unpredictable and takes extra care. |
| Access | Backyard trees with no equipment access take longer. |
| Stump & cleanup | Grinding and haul-off are priced into the estimate. |

Hazardous Tree Removal FAQ
A tree is touching a power line. Can you remove it?
Call your electric utility (BGE in most of our area) first and stay clear. Only utility-qualified line clearance crews should work near energized lines. Once the utility makes it safe, we can handle the rest.
Do I need a licensed company to remove a tree in Maryland?
Yes. Maryland requires tree work for hire to be done by a business with a Maryland Licensed Tree Expert. Always ask any tree company for its license number.
Can you save a tree instead of removing it?
Sometimes. If the problem is a few bad limbs rather than the trunk or roots, pruning may be enough. Our arborist will tell you honestly.
